Naihan Li’s I AM A MONUMENT – CCTV is mentioned in Financial Times, Design Intervention in Miami. Naihan Li’s I AM A MONUMENT – CCTV Wardrobe participated in Design Miami/ 2014, presented by Gallery ALL. In the article, “As part of Design Curio/, Beijing’s Gallery ALL presents Naihan Li’s latest installation from her I AM A MONUMENT series, recreating Beijing’s cityscape to a scale of 1:100 with smog billowing among buildings reimagined as furniture pieces.”

This series takes inspiration from the legend of the Han Dynasty emperor, who had the entire landscape of China reproduced in miniature bonsai trees in his garden, so he could gaze upon it from his bedroom window. CCTV stands for Chiusna Central Television, or the tower of the station in Beijing that is designed by OMA. I AM A MONUMENT – CCTV shrinks the landmark building to 1/100 scale and turns it into collectible furniture.

Besides Naihan Li’s CCTV wardrobe, the article also mentions our other celebrated designer Aranda\Lasch, who are undergoing of constructing new buildings in Design Miami District. “Aranda/Lasch has contributed a dazzling art deco-inflected structure in shiny pleated metal.”
